The Best Matcha Latte | Step-by-Step Guide from the Town of Tea Whiskers
Today, I'd like to introduce you to a refreshing iced matcha latte. Matcha lattes are super popular all over the world right now, and I'm excited to share the secret to making it delicious!
99% of Japan's chasen (茶筅 or 茶筌), tea whisker, is produced in our city and is the heart of tea culture. It's not just because of that; many people here enjoy matcha.
Takayama, located north of Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, is Japan's only producer of tea whisks for more than 700 years of tradition. Isn't that amazing?
2g Matcha powder
1/3 cup(80ml) hot water
1/2 cup Milk of your choice
Simple Syrup to taste

Welcoming a Long and Happy Life with Savory Shrimp | Ebi-no-Umani for Osechi
Such a great video. very clear and easy to follow. I'll keep this in my list of must have lessons. Thank you.
Hi, I'm curious how you keep the the already made mochi? Do you put them in the freezer or refridge?
I usually keep a few of them in the fridge for the next day, the rest goes to the freezer. Microwave for 30 sec, let them cool to room temp, before eating. Thanks for a good question!
@@kitchenprincessbamboo thank you!
Thank you wonderful video ..
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
Only 2g of matcha? My recipe is 4g matcha, 60ml water, 180 milk, about 17g of agava syrup
It depends on the quality of the Matcha. Thank you for sharing your ratio!
Thank you for sharing how traditional Japanese food is made. I like the idea of the potato, onion and anchovies soup. Never tried before.
That’s my favorite, too! Thanks for watching!
Such a great and simple recipe, thank you あれがと!

A good reminder to buy a bamboo whisk while I am still in Osaka. Thank you for the tutorial! Ookini!

Premium matcha. Thanks for watching.
I've never make homemade latte before,my mom will be so excited when she see this, can't wait till I make this in a long hot humid summer to cool down the body !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will you show us how to make mocha frozen hot chocolate latte too ?
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching and for your request! Let me see what I can do.
thank you for another great voiced video!
Thanks for watching!
I spent a few nights in Takayama, I did not know that!!
Where did you stay?
@@kitchenprincessbamboo A hotel called the Rickshaw Inn, it was very nice, and I think a bit more traditional. No shoes allowed inside, and we slept on very fluffy bedding on the floor. I would stay there again!
My wife's favorite. We picked up a bamboo whisk last time we were in Nara!
Nice! Hope you can make the best matcha latte for your wife!
Why is it that most of the instructional videos on you tube are made be total amateurs? All the "how to cook" this or that videos I've watched are at best 3 out of 5 stars both in terms of the chef's expertise as well as the video presentation/tutorial itself.
Yoshida sauce is discontinued and can't be found anywhere. Bring back yoshida sauce. I love it so much & it's my favorite cooking sauce, nothing comes close or beats yoshida sauce
They will soon be back in the market. Please wait for a while!
Is bread flour just flour?
Would you be able to tell when Mr yoshida sauce with be back in stock .
May I ask where you live?
New York
Looks very refreshing. This would make a great cocktail mix too.
Yes, indeed! Let me know what are you going to make! It's perfect for the 4th of July celebration!
Indeed. That was pretty epic. We are growing Ume apricots on our little mountain. They finally started producing fruits this year. This is great info!
That's awesome to hear! I'm glad the video was helpful for your Ume apricots. Let me know how yours turned out!
hii princess, could you pls show us how to make hayashi rice from scratch? I really want to make it at home 🤭
Sure! Thanks for the great request!
My hat goes off to you for making it so perfect, and I really appreciate your efforts; I am interested in seeing a cooking video on the KHAL website.
The voices are getting louder. The voices won’t stop. … Sata andagi :D
I’m trying this recipe with daikon I grew in my garden. I’m half Japanese so I grew up eating tsukemono and takuan is my favourite. I was just wondering - when you leave it to marinate do you put it in the fridge? Or just leave it in the kitchen somewhere?
Marinate in the fridge, please. Thank you for sharing your story! Let me know how do you like this recipe.
Thanks for uploading! I have a few questions. Why is your vinegar pink? And the 'flesh' ginger you use, isn't that galangal/laos?
Ginger is not galangal. Young Ginger tint the marinade pink!
wow! so cool and easy. can't wait to test this recipe. Thank you!
Awesome! Let me know how it turns out when you try it!
perfect for hot summer days
Hope you like it! Thanks for watching!
If you freeze the katsu after breading them, can you cook directly from frozen, or do they need to be thawed?
You don’t have to thaw it if you start deep fring on lower temperature like 140℃ (280℉) then increase the temperature. It’s goint to take about 6~7 mins.
I bet this would be amazing added to iced tea
Great idea! I will do that too!
Yes please momma! 🧏🏻♀️🇨🇦👍🤗
Do they also traditionally make yokan from pumpkin, or sweet potatoes?
Yes we do. Thanks for watching!
@@kitchenprincessbamboo kabocha yokan?
I made it! But mine looks white? 😂 any tips to make it brown? I chose the heating of my oven to be from the bottom, not sure if it will be brown if heating is from top & bottom. Didnt browned like yours but i think its cooked though. Cant wait to taste it. Yum! Thank you!
It doesn’t turn brown on the surface if you turn off the top heat. Maybe next time! Thanks for watching!
I tried the recipe and it was so good ..! The whole wheat bread so wonderful and I'm pleased you share it .😊
Your kind words mean a lot! I appreciate your support and I'm happy you liked the bread.
Thankyou so much loved your video how to make rice bread much appreciated ❤

Beautiful and delicious ❤ Thank you very much ❗️

Thanks!
Is Hire katsu similar to tonkatsu? Because they both are deep-fried pork dish, but they're both are delicious !!!
Same but using different cut of pork. Give it a try!
Bracken starch. Amazing!!! I wonder how do they extract it!
It should be a long process! Hope you like it! Thanks for watching!
Dear Takehime, Can you teach us how to make Yuzu Lemonade for 4th of July? Yuzu matcha lemonade is my favorite drink in summer. I’d like to learn how to make it with the yuzu juice bottle but also with actual yuzu fruit. Domo arigatou gozaimasu!
Thank you for the great request for 4th of July! Unfortunately, fresh Yuzu is not in season right now (Yuzu is typically available in winter). If you do have access to fresh Yuzu, you can make a simple "Yuzu Cha" by removing the seeds, mincing the whole fruit, and mixing it with an equal amount of sugar. You can enjoy it hot or cold, and even mix it with matcha! Be sure to use organic Yuzu. Good luck!
Hello, why whole wheat flour? Can I just use bread flour all the way?
Thanks for the good question! Compared to refined white flour, whole wheat flour contains more yeast. That's why I use whole wheat flour for the first starter.
I love it! I really want to make it but I don't have koji in my country. Is there any replacement?
I am sorry but no replacement for Koji.
Do you have a recipe?
Best information! Thank you!
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
Im looking around for the substitutes of All Purpose Flour here, and I got a chance to view your channel as google suggested 😅I will try to cook it tomorrow ❤thank you for sharing😊
